Easy Homemade Pancake Recipe

Making pancakes from scratch might seem daunting, but it's actually very simple and the results are so much better than using a mix. This recipe uses basic pantry staples and can be easily customized to suit your taste preferences. Whether you're looking for a quick and easy breakfast or a fun weekend brunch idea, these pancakes are sure to please. So let's get started!
Ingredients:
- 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
- 3 1/2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 tablespoon white sugar
- 1 1/4 cups milk
- 1 egg
- 3 tablespoons butter, melted
- Optional add-ins: chocolate chips, blueberries, sliced bananas, etc.
Instructions:
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, and sugar until well combined.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk, egg, and melted butter.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Be careful not to overmix, as this can make the pancakes tough.
- If using add-ins, fold them into the batter now.
- Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium-high heat. Once hot, ladle about 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake.
- Cook until bubbles form on the surface of the pancake and the edges start to look set, then flip and cook for another minute or so on the other side.
- Serve hot with your favorite toppings, such as butter, syrup, whipped cream, or fresh fruit.
