Welcome to my food blog! Today I want to share with you a delicious and classic recipe for chicken parmesan. This Italian-American dish is a favorite for many, and for good reason! The combination of breaded chicken, tomato sauce, and melted cheese is simply irresistible. Plus, it's easy to make at home and is sure to impress your family and friends. So let's get started!
Ingredients:
- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 2 eggs, beaten
- 1 cup seasoned breadcrumbs
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 cups tomato sauce
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup chopped fresh basil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Olive oil for frying
Instructions:
- Preheat the oven to 375°F.
- Place the flour, beaten eggs, and breadcrumbs in separate shallow dishes.
- Pound the chicken breasts to an even thickness, then season them with salt and pepper.
- Dredge the chicken in the flour, shaking off any excess, then dip in the beaten eggs, and finally coat i the breadcrumbs mixed with grated Parmesan cheese.
- Heat the olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breasts and cook until golden brown and cooked through, about 4-5 minutes per side.
- Transfer the chicken to a baking dish and spoon tomato sauce over each piece. Top with shredded mozzarella cheese.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
- Garnish with chopped fresh basil and serve with your favorite pasta or vegetables.
